Taking The Hut Group to the world.

A little over a decade ago, when our faces were somewhat fresher and our beards undoubtedly shorter, a few of us arrived at The Hut Group, a digital retail agency that provided white label e-commerce websites for national retailers such as ASDA, Tesco, Currys, LOVEFilm, Argos. What they may have lacked in numbers (about fifty at the time) they more than made up for in ambition and, if we don’t mind saying so ourselves, talent.

In the following years we oversaw the acquisition of Zavvi, HQHair, Mankind, Beauty Expert, IWantOneOfThose, then later Myprotein and Lookfantastic joined their portfolio. But it wasn’t just about brands – we helped take The Hut Group from web retail to digital marketing, data science, artificial intelligence, internationalisation and fulfilment; from ambitious local entrepreneurs to global leaders changing the face of online retail.

All good things must come to an end, but when we left in late 2016 their numbers had swelled to well over 3,000, trading in 200 countries, 20 languages and 24 currencies.
